WMD Found

So it's not about Philippine politics, but you have to agree that the Bush administration is a gift from heaven to all cartoonists.

If Donald Rumsfeld's well-known "unknown unknowns" statement is unknown to you, know about this known in this article from buzzle.com.

Cha-cha, ang bagong baranggay dance step!

The signature drive for a petition to change the Philippine Constitution is on! Run to your nearest baranggay hall to get your free merienda!

If you ask me, they should have stuck to the original plan below. It doesn't cost as much and it gives the First Gentleman something to do in between Manny Pacquiao fights.

Moments of Love

I learned about this new movie from Jessica Zafra's blog entry.

In the movie Iza Calzado lives in the 1950's and Dingdong Dantes in the present. They have a love affair over the phone (talk about a delayed signal!).

What would happen if Iza lived in 1987?

My influence on Philippine events

Ha! The PGMA assassination plot was probably aborted seeing how it would fail (see previous post).

Here's another oldie: The guy on the right is Sen. Jovito Salonga -- who headed the Presidential Commission on Good Government (PCGG) -- tasked with the recovery of Pres. Marcos' ill-gotten wealth along with the rumored Yamashita gold. I did this in 1986 for Mr. & Ms. news magazine.

Three years ago somebody blew up that bust, reportedly looking for hidden treasure.

Please, people! Don't take my cartoons seriously!!!

More Gringo

I'm not picking on him. If you're the world's worst coup plotter then you deserve more than one cartoon in a row.

Wanted: Gringo

I got tired of waiting for the "Gringo Honasan Wanted" posters. So I decided to put my own out.

Why do I feel we'll still be at this 10 years from now?

I don't know if you guys know this song I'm talking about -- but we used to sing this in prep.

An old political cartoon...

...and it shows! I made this in April 1986 for Mr. and Ms. news magazine, soon after President Marcos (and General Fabian Ver) fled to the U.S. At 50 pesos, this was my first paid drawing!

I had the satisfaction of someone telling this joke back to me about a year later. I laughed out loud, of course.

Don't be takot, let's make baka!

I've finally decided to post something on my blog -- over one year after I created it! So I'm a procrastinator...

I've decided to make this a political cartoon blog -- though you'll probably see all types of drawings from time to time as well. Please don't argue with the content of my cartoons. I have no time for debate. But I do promise to be an equal opportunity satirist. Everyone will get their turn.

Click on this news item if you have no idea what the cartoon below is all about.
